The El Patron Collection
In this collection we tell the tale of Tunu's involvement with the infamous Pablo Escobar. To help Escobar launder his money, he set up several businesses. The Tunu Taxi company was just one of the businesses that helped the narco trafficker launder his billions. Pablo's obsession with soccer was just as intense as his love for barbecue. When he bought his soccer team he incorporated the Tunu logo with the his team logo to forever commemorate his two passions. With all the money Pablo was making, so many ancillary businesses popped up. We set up the Tunu Rubber Band Brand and sold Pablo $2500 worth of rubber bands a month to keep his money organized. All the shirts in this series have the words "Plata O Plomo" or "Silver or Lead" on the upper back, which was Pablo's negotiating philosophy.
